Rhonda Rajsich, Ruben Gonzalez, and Rocky Carson are 2007 US OPEN Champions
It was all smile as the 2007 Choice Hotels US OPEN Racquetball Championships concluded on Sunday crowning nearly 70 champions in professional and amateur divisions.
WPRO No. 1 Rhonda Rajsich claimed her second US OPEN Championship in the Women's Professional division defeating No. 3 Cheryl Gudinas-Holmes. (11-6, 11-5, 8-11, 11-9)
IRT No. 2 Rocky Carson won his first ever US OPEN Men's Professional Championship ousting No. 1 Jack Huczek in front of a sellout crowd. (11-3,7-11,11-8,11-6).
The newly formed Classic Pro Racquetball Tour crowned an inaugural champion as No. 3 Ruben Gonzalez took out No. 1 Woody Clouse in a five game marathon that lasted nearly two hours. (9-2,2-9,9-4,8-9,9-5).
The date for the 2008 Choice Hotels US OPEN Racquetball Championships was also announced and moved to an earlier date from the traditional November month. The event for 2008 will be held October 22-26 in Memphis, TN.
